It will price you not less than 10c from a pay cell phone but much more from an accommodation. As opposed to the US you pay per minute for every contact, no issue where you are contacting. There are three different contacting areas in the United Kingdom, Local, Regional and National. There are also two different time prices 8am to 6pm being the more costly and 6pm until 8am being the less costly.
0800 calls are toll-free and 01 numbers are regional or national calls, all others are billed at various prices and can be costly. For example 0890 numbers, which currently price 49c per minute.
It is suggested that you examine with your resort to see how much your calls are going to cost you before you dial.
